TERMS & CONDITIONS

As a condition precedent to the use of this National Lighting Bureau (NLB) referral service, the user of the service (User) expressly agrees to waive any claim against, and to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless from and against any claims or losses arising from User's use of the NLB referral service, the NLB; the NLB's officers, directors, committee chairs, committee members, and staff; and any of their agents, heirs, and assigns.

By accepting these terms, User states that User understands that:

  • THE NLB TAKES NO MEASURES TO VERIFY THAT A LISTED INDIVIDUAL OR FIRM (PROVIDER) POSSESSES THE COMPETENCY AND EXPERIENCE CLAIMED BY SUCH PROVIDER;
  • a Provider may not possess the competencies and experience the Provider claims to possess;
  • actual possession of certain competencies and experience is not a guarantee or warranty that a Provider will serve in a nonnegligent manner, or even that a Provider will not commit an act of intentional or gross negligence; and
  • investigating and evaluating a Provider’s background, experience, competencies, and capabilities before retaining a Provider is essential, and SUCH INVESTIGATION AND EVALUATION ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF USER, NOT THE NLB.
