A.L.P. Lighting Components, Inc. has become the newest sponsor of the National Lighting Bureau. An independent, not-for-profit foundation established in 1976, the Bureau’s mission is to educate commercial, industrial, residential, and other lighting-system owners and users about the bottom-line advantages of high-quality illumination; what the Bureau refers to as High-Benefit Lighting®.

A leading global manufacturer of lighting components, A.L.P. Lighting offers a diverse mix of LED, fluorescent, and high-intensity discharge (HID) lighting components for OEMs and the aftermarket; from lenses, enclosures, and unwired fixture bodies, to louvers and baffles, reflectors and extruded sheet products. Brands include Steel Craft fluorescent housings and LexaLite® optical products. A.L.P. is an offshoot of Bill Brown Sales (BBS), a component sales agency that Bill and Norma Brown created in the back room of their apartment in 1955, while raising their young family. BBS grew rapidly and, facing pressure to expand services, Bill decided to get into the manufacturing business himself and founded A.L.P. in 1972. Since then, A.L.P. has achieved an international presence, with state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution operations and approximately 600 employees in nine locations throughout the U.S., Europe and Latin America.

According to Donny Wall, A.L.P. Vice President Sales, “The National Lighting Bureau has been doing great work for four decades, providing important, easily understood guidance to those who need to make important decisions about lighting despite limited technical background. The Bureau has made remarkable accomplishments, especially by increasing awareness of the significant financial returns lighting can achieve by supporting improved worker productivity, added safety, better security, enhanced retail-shopping experiences, and so much more. The Bureau also helped pioneer awareness of therapeutic lighting and its role in helping to maintain human health.”

“We are extremely pleased to add A.L.P. to our growing list of sponsors,” said National Lighting Bureau Chair James M. Yorgey, P.E., L.C. (Lutron Electronics Company, Inc.). It’s truly gratifying to have the Bureau’s service and value recognized by such a prominent member of the lighting community.”

The Bureau’s services – all provided free of charge – are 100% dependent upon the funding provided by its sponsors: professional societies, trade associations, manufacturers, and agencies of the U.S. government, now including, among others:
