William “Bill” Hanley, 75, of Wyckoff, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4th, 2018. Bill was born in Staten Island and lived in New York City before moving to Wyckoff 46 years ago. Before retiring in 2015, Bill was the executive vice president of the Illuminating Engineering Society for 26 years. Before beginning his career in association management, Bill taught literature at Manhattan College and Rockland Community College. He received his Master’s Degree in English Literature from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI in 1965. He is survived by Irene, his wife of 49 years, his children Matthew and Elizabeth, as well as his brother John and sister Norma. Donations in Bill’s memory can be made to Alzheimer’s New Jersey.
